FYI – I am keeping it real here! I chose to work with Smile Brilliant because I was excited to try out an electric toothbrush and to my pleasure the experience was positive. Hence, this post does contain affiliate links. If you choose to click through and make a purchase I will earn a commission, but know that this is always your choice!
What does my toothbrush have in common with my husband? I see them both right before I snuggle up in bed and I see them both after I’ve hit snooze a few times in the morning. I love my husband dearly and yes, I want to love my toothbrush too! When Smile Brilliant approached me about giving their cariPRO Ultrasonic Electric Toothbrush a whirl, I was all about it. Remove 7 times more plaque than my current toothbrush? Sign me up. I had currently been using an Oral B toothbrush from my dental office and wasn’t married to it so I thought what is there to lose? I’d heard positive reviews on their teeth whitening products so I figured it was probably a given that I would like the toothbrush. Keep reading for your chance to test one out for yourself at unbeatable price –FREE, or at a discount of 20%. My package arrived in mid-December as seen below.
When I opened the box and saw the sleek, modern look in comparison to my white and pink toothbrush, I thought “okay let’s do this!” …I didn’t end up using the toothbrush for the first time until the following day. Kinda forgot that I actually had to charge the toothbrush -guys, I’m a first timer with electric.
I got the toothbrush all charged up and then proceeded to spray toothpaste all over the place the next morning. Hot. Mess.
The brush comes with an instruction manual, but it does not go into detail about how to apply toothpaste …probably because this should be common sense. I’m gonna blame “mom brain” here to make myself feel better. Seriously, I know, what the heck was I thinking?
Step 1) Apply toothpaste. Step 2) Put toothbrush in mouth. Step 3) Turn on toothbrush. Step 4) Brush! Once I figured out the whole toothpaste thing, I proceeded to try out the “clean mode,” there are 5 different modes that you can pick from. “Clean Mode” is supposed to give you the most optimal cleaning results. Like the title of this blog post says, I’m being 100% honest with you here – I hated the way it felt.
Quickly I switched through the rest of the modes: “White,” “Massage,” “Gum Care,” and then finally landed on “Sensitive.” I thought to myself “geez, I must have really sensitive teeth.” I still hated the way it felt, too rough. I found that it actually reminded me of going to the dentist. For those of you who know me well -going to the dentist is on my list of top 5 things I hate to do. Yes, I want a healthy smile and yes, I care about my oral care -but I cannot stand the way the experience feels, nor the way everything tastes. The people are great but I wish I could just chat with them and it all be over instead!
So, day 1 was in the books, complete with an outfit change and all. Day 2 there was no outfit change, but I still wasn’t a fan. The only reason I brushed again with the cariPRO Ultrasonic Toothbrush was because I had agreed to try it out for an entire month. Day 3, however, there was a change, as you may presume by my happiness in the picture below. I think it was just a matter of my teeth getting used to the feeling of the new toothbrush, I hadn’t been accustomed to it before. The “Massage Mode” was now comfortable for me and by day 4 I was switching back and forth between the “Clean Mode” and the “White Mode.” My mouth and teeth had the feeling of just being cleaned by the dentist, minus the dull aches and the aftertaste that I typically associate with going to the dentist.
I now love ending and beginning my day with Smile Brilliant. At two weeks, I threw my old toothbrush out because I knew I’d never be going back. One of my favorite things about the toothbrush is its two minute auto-timer with its 30 second quadrant timer for each of the 4 sections of the mouth (top-right, top-left, bottom-right, and bottom-left). Now I know that I’m always spending enough time on my teeth, something that I think I easily neglected prior to using the electric toothbrush as a result of crazy rushed weekday mornings.
I like that I now have an option to select from 5 different modes depending on how I feel day to day and I’ve got a head replacement on hand for when I need to switch out. This will be an easy reminder for me to know its time to order more replacements well in advance. Here’s a closeup -the handle is a soft, silicone rubber grip that is gray in color. The top bottom is the on/off and the second button moves you from mode to mode. The current mode that you are in will light up where those little circles are. Then you’ve got the battery charge indicator status at the bottom. I’ll note that I still haven’t had to recharge mine since that day I first charged it.
Have you made it this far friends? If so, Smile Brilliant and I want to reward you! Smile Brilliant advertises that their pricing for the cariPro is significantly lower than competitor brushes. I can’t say that I’ve asked who exactly their competitors are -but what I can say is that a quick Google search will show that there are electric brushes priced under $50 and some that go above the $300 mark. The package that I received is $119, then there is a $129 and $199 package, current rates as of this date of course. So, they seem to be somewhere in the middle to me and I’d venture to assume the quality is better than something you are going to get under $50 -but I’m no specialist here. These are my own opinions.
In either case, Smile Brilliant is willing to give one of the same packages that I received away to one of my followers. You can’t be FREE guys! You can enter the giveaway here and the winner will be notified via email. What is the next best thing after free? A discount code! Grab a cariPRO Ultrasonic Toothbrush at 20% off of the normal price with code “sprinkledsunshine20” -yay!!!
